Arden Waggoner Stephenson has lived and practiced professionally as an accredited Interior Designer in New York City since 1991. She is Principle Owner of ARDEN Interior Architecture & Design, formed in 2001.

Prior to this time, Arden was as a Senior Design Associate with Cullman & Kravis, Inc, New York City.  During her seven years of working directly with Ellie Cullman,  she was responsible for the management of high-end residential projects and specialty corporate projects nationwide in cities such as Palm Desert, Bel Air, Malibu, East Hampton, Greenwich and New York City.  Her extensive background in commercial design also encompassed a variety of projects such as the refurbishment of the offices of the Jewelry Department and senior management office’s of Sotheby’s New York, as well as the Park Avenue offices for a private investment company.  She was also asked to be a keynote guest speaker at the premier 2000 Architectural Digest Home Show in New York City. Her projects under Cullman & Kravis were published in Architectural Digest, American Homestyle & Gardening (cover), and American Homestyle & Gardening Kitchen & Bath.

Educated in both residential and commercial design, Arden began her design career practicing high-end corporate and retail design in Atlanta, Ga.  Upon her relocation to New York City, Arden became an Associate Designer at NODA  and collaborated on the design of several large hospitality and retail projects such as Trop World in Atlantic City, Neiman Marcus, Guerlain, Penhaligons, and the upscale Spanish chain La Vaguada.

Arden is a native Texan and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture from the University of Oklahoma - College of Architecture.  Arden earned a Masters degree in the History of Decorative Arts from Parsons School of Design/ Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York City.  Her education from Parsons included extensive studies abroad in both France and England in the field of European art, decorative arts and architecture.  In addition, Arden was a fellow in the Design Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.   

Arden is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ), and is a Professional member of American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and International Interior Design Association (IIDA).  Arden is also licensed by the state of New York in Interior Design.

ARDEN recent residential projects include: numerous New York City landmark buildings, Tuxedo Park, Westchester County, Bridgehampton, Martha’s Vineyard,  Greenwich, Connecticut and Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Arden was a participating designer for the 2010 Traditional Home Hampton Designer Showhouse, 2010 American Fashion: Designer's at The Aldyn Showhouse and 2010 Old Westbury Garden's Home for the Holiday's Showhouse.
